Our Process

It’s All About the Relationship

The success of our firm and our clients is based on a simple belief that the relationship between a financial planner and the client must be built on trust and harmony. When you have confidence in our expertise and approach, you’ll have no doubt that we have your best interests in mind, and we’ll genuinely enjoy working together.

Here is our process for building long-term relationships:

Get to Know Each Other

Before you feel comfortable working with us, and before we can make any recommendations, we have to get better acquainted. We’ll discuss basic information about your financial assets, but the more important conversation will focus on what is important to you, what concerns you, and why. What are your goals? What are your challenges? Are you meeting your financial obligations? How much debt are you carrying? What are your spending habits? Is there anything you would like to change?

Dig into the Details

Once we get to know each other, we can share our observations, recommendations, the reasoning behind those recommendations, and a schedule for putting your plan into action. We’ll also explain how we’re paid with full transparency, since fee structure can vary based on the investment products you choose. Keep in mind that we’ll never pressure you into anything. We’ll simply present our proposal, answer your questions, and allow you to decide if you want to move forward, make adjustments, or walk away.

Regular Check-Ins

Once you make the decision to partner with us, we’ll ask how often you want to hear from us. Of course, you can contact us any time by phone or email if you have a question, experience a life change that could affect your investment decisions, or become concerned about unusual activity in the financial markets. We’re always here for you.

Fun Times

A few times a year, we plan fun experiences for our clients and our team. Each event is a great opportunity to continue to build stronger relationships. Our clients have joined us for a wine tasting at Nicholas Restaurant in Red Bank, a cooking class Sur La Table, a private IMAX movie screening at the Franklin Institute, a night at the Peyton Observatory in Princeton, and events with local nonprofits.
